Is Being a Full Time Creative the Best Life Ever?
Or should you become a pragmatic juggler?
This is a question I wonder. I've tried and tested. It is not a perfect scenario.
Everything takes time - and time is limitless.
To be a full time creative, the time is all yours to utilise.
You get to do what you want.
But...
You will struggle to make a living.
You are lucky if you're living with your parents.
They saved you bulk of the financial woes.
Unless you are a heiress like Paris Hilton
or a Crazy Rich Asian like Jamie Chua,
you are unlikely to live a life that you want.
Sometimes, the things we want
are not the things we need.
To be a full time of your own (anything),
You have to figure out your personality.
People who succeed are those ambitious.
They achieve what they set out to do.
They are quick and constantly on the go.
They are social and well-rounded.
I realise I am not.
I like to do what I want,
without worrying about the money.
I love to create what I want,
without caring about the target audience.
I like to do my work at my own pace,
without the other party forcing me deadlines.
This sounds more like a passion than making a living, isn't it?
Obtain a good living first,
something that you enjoy doing.
Then, on the side,
pursue your passion.
I stay home most of the time during my 'self-expression'.
I was not out making an impact on people.
It dawned on me that full time creative is not for me.
It gets boring and meaningless after a while.
Right now, I am a teacher.
And I enjoy every second of it!
Though...
It can be a tiring job.
When I go home after work, I just want to lie on my bed.
One thing I've learned about being a pragmatic juggler is that,
You need to be highly organized.
No chance for spontaneity ( which is very me! )
I am an INFP.
When I asked my friends how they juggle, they say 'just do'.
Maybe it's that simple...
Just Do It!
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.
